Not only will you find three magical shops in one location, but you’ll also be supporting Feed Branford Kids, a local non-profit helping to feed kids from families in need. This is the 25th Annual Holiday Open House, now hosted by Cynthia’s Flower Shop, the Martha Link Walsh Gallery, and Luckey Redo. The event takes places on Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3, from 10am to 4pm.

The free, two-day event features handmade gift items for the holidays including:

Cynthia’s Flower Shop – holiday decorations, hostess and business gifts, fun and festive flowers, and vintage ornaments

Martha Link Walsh Gallery – original paper cuttings, handcut ornaments, 2018 Flights of Fancy calendar, decorative cheese boards and luminaries, and holiday cards

Luckey ReDo – original hand knits & up-cycled, re-imagined one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories for women

On Saturday at 1pm, Cynthia’s Flower Shop is hosting a Hanging Succulent Terrarium Workshop. Attendees will plant succulents inside a glass terrarium and select a holiday ribbon for hanging. The cost for the workshop is $15; please call to register, (203) 481-3115.

What’s Your Story, Morning Glory?

My garden inspires me: I am in awe of nature and my garden. Over the years I have collected cuttings from family and friends’ favorite plants. My garden has a story…from the previous owner’s peonies now 60+ years old and my Grandmother’s blue star, to my Mom’s false blue indigo and white hydrangea, a friend’s jack-in-the-pulpit, and even my own lace-top hydrangeas that no one believed would ever get bigger than 10”!

I am inspired by the tenacity of some plants, the fragility of others, and the steadfast determined nature of them all. This year, my morning glories replanted themselves everywhere with vigor and brilliance. One can almost watch them grow!

Like my garden, my work has stories. In the collecting and honoring people’s loved garments, I transform them into new, one-of-a-kind Luckey ReDo garments. They are themselves tenacious, fragile, and determined to continue as reinvented stories…for you!
